“Why would you move from Florida to England?”
This
question it seems has been asked of us regularly since we
arrived in England. Many times people base it on the
weather.
Having
grown up in Florida, I am used to varied weather. Yes,
while Florida is known for its sunshine, Disney, and
beaches, it is also known for its rainstorms. Florida is
referred to as “the lightning capital of the U.S.”!
The
real answer for why our family is here in the U.K. has
nothing to do with the weather. We are here for the
people. We have been working with people through ministry
for about 20 years. We love being a part of people’s lives
and making them a part of ours. We enjoy sharing the joys
and moments of laughter as well as the times of various
emotionally taxing trials with others as our paths cross.
We
have been at CBC for the last 8 months and have found the
people to be very caring and gracious. Various members have
shown concern for Gina and the kids as we’ve been adjusting
to “life in the U.K.” We have made great new, lasting
friendships in the church and are enjoying many new
relationships with people in the community.
We want to have a positive impact on people’s lives. For
this reason, we are in the ministry. We believe that the
most positive impact in a person’s life that can be had, is
when they place their faith in Christ as their personal
Saviour. Through the foundation of this relationship with
God, a person can face and experience all that lies ahead of
him on life’s path with great anticipation. We hope to
continue building many more strong and long-lasting
relationships with many folk in the Congleton community.
